About Optimal Satcom

Optimal Satcom is the leading provider of enterprise systems and services for the planning and management of satellite capacity, and SATCOM network design and optimization.

Formed in 2002 as a spin-off from Lockheed Martin and COMSAT Corporation, Optimal Satcom continues a long tradition of excellence in research and development in satellite communications with leading products and services in its market area.

Our Products and Services

Optimal Satcom offers a comprehensive suite of products including the industry leading Complan®, Enterprise Capacity Manager™ (ECM™), and COMSAT STAR® Suite.

Our commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products and customized systems are used to manage a significant portion of the world's commercial and military satellite capacity. We also offer training and technical consulting services to assist satellite companies to efficiently manage their capacity.

Our Customers

Our customers include satellite operators, VSAT service providers, media companies, value-added satellite capacity resellers (VARs), government civilian and military programs, and non-governmental organizations.

Organizations that own, lease, or manage a significant portion of satellite capacity will benefit from the use of our products and services. Our products are also used during the analysis and design of satellite systems and netwoks.

News and Events

Complan v5.5.2 Released

January 17, 2012

Optimal Satcom has released COMPLAN v5.5.2 which added significant support for planning for special antenna types (including phased array antennas) finding increasing use on mobile platforms such as airplanes. Details are included in the product release notes.

Installation images for both the Enterprise and Professional Editions of Complan may be downloaded from the Customer Portal.

COMSAT STAR Suite v5.7.8 Released

March 25, 2011

Optimal Satcom has released COMSAT STAR Suite v5.8. COMSAT STAR Suite includes releases of the following products:

COMSAT STAR v5.7.8
Antenna Coverage Program (ACP) v4.9
Propagation Analysis Program (PAP), v2.2
Link Analysis Program (LINK), v3.4

Enterprise Capacity Manager (ECM) Version Updates

December 21, 2011

The Enterprise Capacity Manager (ECM) continues its fast paced development with the release of v1.6.14 today.

Due to its enterprise nature and phased development approach, different customers are being upgraded based on a careful evaluation by Optimal Satcom as to the suitability of the particular version for the customer's specific needs. As updates are released to each customer, their corresponding Update Servers are configured with the latest release and database upgrades coordinated.
