Link is a comprehensive link budget tool that is used to analyze the performance of bent-pipe satellite links in C, X, Ku, and Ka-band. Link includes six different rain models with associated databases (same as Complan and PAP). Link can generate several types of results: tables with transponder broadcast parameters, summary and detailed link budgets in user-customizable Excel format; plots showing the result of parametric analyses; and maps of required transmit terminal HPA power, receive terminal G/T, etc. (Maps require ACP.) Link forms part of the Enterprise Capacity Management System (ECMS) through its interface with the Satellite System Database and ability to exchange data with Complan and CLBT.
